Borrowed Strength

This guy is bench pressing a lot.  I wouldn’t be able to do it.  Not in a million years.

Do you ever feel that way about life?  You’re just getting crushed by the weight of it all?

I won’t lie, I usually feel this way when I’m sick.  Which, in fact, I currently am.  I feel so tired and all I want to do is lay around, curl up, and sleep away the sickness.

But I’m not fighting sickness, bills, my own pride, or anything in my own power.  I have borrowed strength.  It’s how I operate daily.  Jesus gives me his strength.

The strength that held him on the cross.

The strength that brought him out of the grave.

The strength that he gave to each of us when we believed in him.

Isn’t it amazing to think that later this morning (it’s 12:07am here), I won’t even be able to worship Him without the strength He gives me in the Holy Spirit?

So that’s my thought for this Sunday.  Use borrowed strength and worship Him with all He gives you.

What do you think?  Do we worship out of our own level of comfort or out of the strength Christ lets us borrow?
